Moving from Employee to Entrepreneur

One of the major challenges of an individual in starting his or her own business is the lack of discipline. Imagine the situation of moving from a corporate job which you are held accountable for any task at hand. But when you are self-employed for are practically free most of the time. The only thing you can do is to hold yourself accountable.

Basically what you need to do is to transfer your habit of working for people into working for yourself. The principle here is that, it is now your business, and in order to grow your business, you have to work harder than working for your employer. Why? First of all, you need to thrive in your business to provide food and shelter for you and your family.

Second, you will be in deeper trouble working for yourself if you are not taking action into developing your business.

The reason why in this economic climate it is so hard to find a job, let alone to keep your existing one is because the larger corporations are unable to compete effectively. That is why it is said that in this 21st century great recession, home based business entrepreneurs is the only way to sustain the people’s income stream and therefore revive this economy.

“Love your job and not your company" because you never know when your company will stop loving you. Make money for yourself first and simultaneously make money for the company, not the other way around.

The beauty of working for yourself is that you can decide where and when to work just with your laptop and an internet connection. As a matter of fact, you can live the lifestyle you dream off if your business is on autopilot. That is why it is so important that you work hard and smart initially to grow your own business into a passive cash generator.

You see, there is a reason why 95% of people work for somebody else. Most are just too comfortable with their monthly income that they dare not step out of their comfort zone. It is often easier to be programmed to do something rather than to be the programmer. Our society is ingrained to study hard, get into university and search for a secure job. Well in the 21st century, this simple formula does not work anymore. There is way too much competition and in order to be at the leading edge you have to take the road less travelled.

The first step to being an entrepreneur is developing a business mindset that requires you to BE YOUR OWN BOSS. It means you have to hold yourself accountable if your business does not work out. “Your future is in your hands”. Hence, it is a good idea to have a friend or partner to check on you periodically. Do not procrastinate! Carry out what you have planned for your business on a deadline. That way, you are easily on your way to moving from being an employee to being an entrepreneur.
